In 2017 the World Scout Conference adopted a new description of The Scout Method for the Constitution of WOSM and for institutional documents. The new description of The Scout Method reinterprets the seven elements known from e.g. The Essential Characteristics of Scouting (1998) and introduces a new element, Community Involvement.
In this session we will explore the review process and the thinking and rationales that underlie the new version, including the intentions behind the elements, both those retained and the new. There will be time to discuss the elements, their interactions, and The Scout Method as a whole.
